I'm Alec Baker. I live in Philadelphia, where I create solutions at the intersection of humans and technology.

My journey into technology began with a computer game, The Sims. I became fascinated not just with the game itself, but with how it worked. That curiosity led me down a rabbit hole of web hosting, teaching myself to code, and eventually building my first company—a CRM platform for the web hosting industry. The real win wasn't a small exit before 18, but discovering I loved building with friends.

Born and raised in the city of brotherly love, I spent several years in Seattle diving deep into the tech scene before returning home. Along the way, I've founded multiple companies, experienced both successes and failures, and learned that the most interesting problems exist where technology meets human needs.

Today, I'm building two companies that reflect this philosophy. MortgageCS, which I co-founded over five years ago, is a tech-enabled mortgage broker licensed in 12 states. We deliver superior service that the rest of the industry can only aspire to, viewing every interaction as an opportunity to clearly explain options and share information transparently. My newest venture, FinancialCS, is a financial wellness and coaching platform designed to help people see and follow a path to financial empowerment.

When I'm not building companies or coding, you'll find me on the ice playing hockey, cheering on Philly sports teams (go Flyers, Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers!), or exploring new countries with my wife, family, and friends. I've visited over 40 countries and believe that travel, like entrepreneurship, educates us, humbles us, and gives us both inspiration and perspective. It's about embracing the unknown and learning from every experience—and it's always better when shared with the people you love.

I'm a short-term pessimist and long-term optimist—I see the challenges clearly but believe in our ability to build solutions. For me, success isn't just about exits or valuations; it's about working with good people to solve real problems and having fun along the way. Whether it's mentoring other entrepreneurs, investing in promising startups, or building the next venture, I'm driven by the belief that technology should enhance human life, not complicate it—though we know it will inevitably do both!
